Got Texas?

If you live in Texas, apparently you've chosen well in this uncertain economic climate.
According to a recent Brookings Institute study, Texas has 6 of the top 15 recession-resistant cities, including 4 of the top 5! San Antonio was rated #1. In the study researchers examined economic criteria such as changes in employment and home values for the largest 100 metropolitan areas in the country. Texas clearly came out on top.

Kat and Texas Mommy, hats off to you!!

Texas is great - come come, we'd love to have you! :) The cost of living is great, the people are friendly, and there are a lot of big cities with international communities, interesting museums, and lots for families to do. Perfect for families :)

I loved Dallas when I lived there! Reasons to move:
1) cheap rent and home prices...my one bedroom apt was $500/mo(!), it came with a full washer/dryer, fireplace, balcony with a view, and was two blocks from a huge park and lake where I used to run.

2) cheap auto insurance (well at least, cheaper than CA where I used to live and NJ where i live now)

3)no state income tax
