Our family thin...I'm glad this made you laugh. Our family thinks this skit is hilarious--even my children laugh at it. My daughter's favorite line "you have a hot pocket for breakfast, a hot pocket for lunch and be dead by dinner."
and I don't even think she knows what a hot pocket is!

Anyway, Amanda I agree with your thoughts on nursing infants and milk banks. Unfortunately, B & J's will probably not think of milk banks when they respond.

The ick factor is a problem too. Nursing is a very natural, right, and beautiful way to feed babies, even toddlers (sorry JM), and we don't want to discourage it in any way. While some may think La Leche league is a little militant with their breastfeeding advocacy, this sort of strong breastfeeding support is still very much needed in today's world!Right Said Redhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03000769740954672341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4839413630623850301.post-80714346510613794252008-09-25T10:31:00.000-04:002008-09-25T10:31:00.000-04:00First of all, the hot pockets sketch makes me cry ...First of all, the hot pockets sketch makes me cry I laugh so hard every time I watch it.

As far as PETA goes, I feel like their motivation is to bring attention to factory farming more than anything else of course. I hope that in their response B&Js - who I assume will decline to switch to breastmilk - will explain that they will not be using breastmilk because there is a much more important use for it for newborns via milk banks. PETA can get their message out there, and hopefully the message about the need for breastmilk for newborns get out there too. Thank you to all the moms like Texas Mommy who so graciously donate their milk. I never had a supply to support the cause, but admire those who do.

My other concern is that with people who I have discussed the story with, the 'ick' factor is rampant. I'm not saying I am in love with the idea of cooking with and consuming breastmilk. I just hope this does not carry over into people's opinions and perceptions of nursing mothers, especially those who choose to extend breastfeeding into toddlerhood. It is natural and it is a shame that society is not more open and accepting of it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14025160509215109897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4839413630623850301.post-10771953407926612952008-09-25T10:09:00.000-04:002008-09-25T10:09:00.000-04:00cracking me up!!!cracking me up!!!Carolina Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17498731427012150836noreply@blogger.com
