In our vibrant history curriculum Rome is crumbling. In the Story of the World, the Celts are painted blue, the Huns are eating raw meat, the Angles and Saxons have moved into Britain. My children are running around the house this rainy day grabbing for each other and screaming "I am Beowolf and I am going to tear off your arm!"
I'm hiding the blue paint.

lol.
pass the blue paint along to us, Charlie could use it for his Braveheart speech!
actually, I am debating letting them watch some of braveheart...I'll have to prescreen it, it has been so long, but maybe a few scenes on youTube.
Make sure you look up pictures of woad, which is what the Celts used to make the blue paint. Woad is a common weed in the U.S., so you might even be able to find some. It's making a comeback as a dye for printer ink, since it's biodegradable.
The popular guys in my high school used to paint their bodies like this to go cheer for our varsity soccer team. It was actually kind of attractive at the time...
