'Tis the Season

On the second day of Christmas, “the most wonderful time of the year” gave to us:

Five sleepless days and nights
Four violent stomach viruses
Three cancelled Christmas parties
Two ear infections
And only one family member well enough to go to Christmas Mass (dad)

I've never been so thankful that our faith gives us Twelve Days to celebrate Christmas! Is that God's gift to moms or what? (Well, that and Amoxicillin of course.)

Ugh, JM, that sounds awful! I'm so sorry that you guys are sick...When you're all better, I hope that you can really celebrate Christmas!

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. We understand fully as many of our Christmases have ended with fevers and flus. Tis the season. How did Our Lady get by without antibiotics...

Sounds horrible. I'm so sorry, I hope you are all recovered now?

Gianna came down with pneumonia right before Christmas last year. We were seeing a lot of family from out of town, so we had no choice but to visit with them and try to keep her well rested and away from the rest of the kids (viral pneumonia isn't very contagious). I think someone in our family gets sick almost every year, this is the first Christmas in recent memory where nobody was ill. I think this is just par for the course with larger families and small children, sigh.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas!
