So I'm a little late on this, but I came across this link today and was really inspired. Maddy Curtis, the 9th of 12 children (including 4 down syndrome brothers) was featured on American Idol and made it to "Hollywood." She is an evangelical convert to Catholicism, a cantor at her church, and the daughter of a wonderful woman who blogs here. Her mom is a big pro-life advocate, and overall I am just thrilled that Maddy is following her dream and representing her Catholic Faith so well--especially at the age of 16! It is my hope that we will see a lot more of Maddy on this season of American Idol.
"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

i am sooo glad you posted this! I saw her the other night and thought she was fabulous! I am checking out the blog right now- what a neat family!
Thanks!
We are unfortunately and hopelessly addicted to AI and loved Maddy's story the other night. I had no idea she was Catholic though! That makes it even better. Did the whole family convert? They showed her at home with her DS brothers and they all looked so joyful. We will certainly be following her in Hollywood!
The best part of the audition was when Simon said, "Amazingly, you're 16 but you're not annoying." LOL.
I hope she makes it into the top 24, because I would love for her to get the opportunity to America to vote her to a landslide victory, so she can then fight the Devil with millions of dollars of his own money.
This is so inspiring! Thanks for the link, Red.
