Pink Laundry

A few month's ago on our family's site, I posted about our burgeoning laundry pile and my ill-attempts at keeping it from swallowing up our hallway and the children along with it.

With three little people, two big ones, and a dog the size of a small teenager, we make a lot of dirty laundry (which makes me start to wonder how Mary Alice does it!) My attempts to weed out the wearable clean clothes from the pile often are futile. My little stainmakers spill with the best of them. To top it off, laundry efforts in our home are less-than-stellar and I take full responsibility for often letting clothes sit for days in the washer, in the dryer, and then in the aforementioned hallway. Life takes precedence and laundry does not.

That day when I posted, overwhelmed by the growing pile of laundry in the hallway, I was met by such a jolly bunch of readers, who instead focused on one thing: the laundry colors. They marveled at the blues, browns, oranges, khakis, and the like, noticing a complete absence of any girlier tones--pinks, purples, fushias, lilacs, etc. I had never taken a moment to notice it before, but they were right. Our laundry here bleeds male colors through and through; as it should, we have 4 males and a male dog (and a mom who doesn't always wear girly tones either!) You could say we're as color-challenged as we are gender-challenged!

That is, until yesterday...
When we met this little sweetheart at our 20-week ultrasound.
She is cute; she is healthy; and she has two X's.
And our laundry pile has never been happier.
We can't wait for pink!! Praise God.

Blessings to you! I am so excited that Gville will have a pink addition at last!

I am going to take this as an invitation to post soon on how I do laundry, because it is one of the rare areas of life that I have totally under control!

Congratulations! Having three pinks and one blue, I wish sometimes that I had some more blue to go with all the pinks. It's all good:)

Oh so exciting. As someone who just welcomed a little girl it is way too much fun. It took me a while to get used to shopping on the other side of the stores, but I love it now. And I can say that those little girls are just...well they are way too delicious, your boys are going to love her up (as my guys says).

However now that I am awash in all lovely pink gift clothes and pink hand-me-down clothes...I have a red-head! Who looks cutest in her brother's blue rompers....Red, I may need to email you for some coloring advice so I can outfit her in style.

When I saw the title of the post, I thought you were going to tell us about how you accidentally washed a red sock with the whites, and then draw an analogy to the manifold and deleterious effects of sin in our lives. Or something like that.

Anyway, congratulations!

JTM, haha!! No deep insight on this one, just pink laundry.

Ha, I totally thought it was going to be about a red shirt in with the whites. I went to IU for my undergrad, and it was funny to see so much pink at the beginning of every fall - the result of first time laundry doers washing a lot of cream and crimson clothes! ANYWAY - congratulations on your sweet and healthy baby girl. I had two girls after a boy and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the pinky ruffly clothes.
