Cold Front!

There's a "cold front" coming through southeast TX on Friday, and we're all very excited! You see, for us that means that the temperatures will drop into the low 70's from the 90 degree temperatures that we have been experiencing. I love the fall for many reasons, but it has been hard to get into the Harvest Festivals and Fall Carnivals when we've been sweating in 100% humidity (I kid you not) and swatting away mosquitos. I'm sure that those in the northeast who are experiencing winter squalls are also having a hard time getting into the Fall spirit! In any case, I had to laugh when I heard about our "cold front" on the news this evening - when we lived in the north, a cold front indicated below freezing temperatures!
Blessings to all of you on this almost Thursday, which means that it is almost Friday and almost the weekend!

Well Kat, you'll get the last laugh when February rolls around and we (who are enjoying a crisp, colorful fall now) haven't been outside in four months.

My kids insisted on wearing hats, gloves, and snow boots this week when the weather dipped into the 60s! And they have walked around like they can't bend their knees when I put pants on them for the first time. We are taking them to CO and will try skiing for the first time this year...I think we need to do some cold weather training!

I always heard about this. I've never been to Texas, but my parents lived there before I was born. Both of them are from Indiana so they used to get a big kick out of everyone in Texas who, apparently, pulled out their heavy winter coats when the temp dropped below 70; and my parents were still in shorts. I never quite believed them, but perhaps it is true. Enjoy the "cold" weather. It's coming close to freezing at nights up here.

Amen to that! The front just hit Austin and I am SO EXCITED. It actually feels like fall around here!
