If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island for one year with a newborn, what three items would you bring? Easy:
(1) SwaddleMe swaddling blanket, so baby and I can both sleep through the night beneath the stars (and eventually in our bamboo hut).
(2) Baby Bjorn, to carry baby with me as I hunt (free range cows and chickens) and gather (berries and plants and grains and hopefully some balsamic vinegar to spruce them up)
(3) Bumbo baby seat, so baby can sit upright in the shade while I suntan and exercise on the beach in anticipation of my joyful reunion with my dreamboat husband
If there was a little extra room on the S.S. Minnow, I’d also pack:
(1) Dark chocolate

Since I am a Red head, I would also bring a hat, and sunscreen.
I'm cracking up at this, as they would likely be my top picks too. The swaddle for sure.
I would hope that the sound of the waves crashing would be rhythmic enough to help my baby sleep as currently he can't sleep without a white noise machine.
You crack me up... thanks for the laugh :)

Wow, great moms with JD's think alike! Yes, yes, yes, and yes! (Though I don't find the Swaddle Me to make any difference in my baby sleeping, but it makes for fine sleepwear.)
JM--sounds like you need a vacation! Why don't I send my extra breastmilk to AWOL Mommy in Germany and we can use the proceeds to take the builders on a vacation (nursing babes welcome!).
Tex, say the word and I'll make my reservations.
Sophie, we're all white noise machine sleepers too. I agree that the waves would do the job, and this would be a deserted island with no crickets. I know some people like crickets chirping in their artificial white noise, but in my opinion, they're just distracting.
